ANCHORLOT – Stand Up

Nearly 50 million Americans struggle with mental health challenges Globally that number is estimated to be around one billion people People are always talking about Other people acting strange No need to understand them Just lock them in a cage At best we medicate them So they can look the same Masking all the sadness Internalizing shame This one’s really quiet Maybe he’s just shy Won’t talk about his demons He prefers to hide But no one is approaching To understand why We sit around in silence Wondering if he’ll take his life When will we stand up? And lend a hand to a human When will we not judge? And try to get to know someone When will we choose love? And not be of afraid of the things we don’t understand When will we stand up? And lend a hand to a human When will we not judge? And try to get to know someone When will we choose love? And not be of afraid of the things we don’t understand Let’s not be of afraid of the things we don’t understand Let’s not be of afraid of the things we don’t understand Let’s not be of afraid of the things we don’t understand
